THE FAINT "The Geeks Were Right" MP3

THE FAINT
Moving on from Omaha stable label Saddle Creek, The Faint have created their own appropriately titled blank.wav. Their first record Fasciinatiion in four years will be hitting dance floors August 5th.

First off from the album, “The Geeks Were Right” still finds Todd Finks vocals just enchanting and the beats hip inducing.  Slightly directed towards their more classic electro-dance imprint and a bit away from the previous crunchy punk aesthetics of Wet From Birth, The Faint may be coming back to take their throne as the indie electro dance kings.

Make sure you don’t miss their upcoming tour!

KING KHAN & THE SHRINES "Torture" MP3

KING KHAN & THE SHRINES

AHHH! Where has mister Khan been!  Because since there was that mini-garage rock revival in the early 00s and since then his Shrine has grown and music still gritty! Their track “Torture” hits you like a James Brown on crack speeding through soaring vocals and guitar riffs to get you hot and heavy.

Don’t miss them on their first ever U.S. tour this coming July & August.  I am sure King Khan and his Shrines is going to bring it!

THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS Standing Next To Me MUSIC VIDEO

Superstar duo The Last Shadow Puppets’ 2nd single embraces what all duos of past have created, perfect pop singles.  Clocking in at only two minutes and twenty-one seconds, “Standing Next To Me” evokes vintage chorus lines and to-the-point lyrics.

The music video itself mirrors a time and period that The Last Shadow Puppets embrace so effortlessly that you might almost forget that this duo is from 2008 and not 1968.

WEEZER "Meri Kuri" (BoA Kwon Cover) MP3

BoA

Well, Weezer’s 6th and 3rd self-titled (Red Album) didn’t make a splash the way the debut single “Pork And Beans” did.  But the Japanese do get something special on their edition of Weezer’s new album.  They cover Korean popstar BoA Kwan’s “Meri Kuri!”  Now this jolted to some excitement in my bones.  I am a starry-eyed fan of BoA.  But unfortunately, just like 50% of this record, the cover song doesn’t really deliver what we have all been hoping for.  But I am quite impressed by Cumos’ Korean.  Whether he is just mimicking or actually knows some Korean it doesn’t sound too bad.

JAMIE LIDELL Another Day Live CONAN O' BRIEN

[redlasso id=”8787f0d0-c4c9-4282-84cf-7913811816f4″]

I am still on a Jamie Lidell kick. I finally got to see him live at Bowery Ballroom in New York June 9, 2008 (some video from that show will shortly be up) and it was one of the most intense and awe inspiring live performances I’ve ever seen.

Jamie performed on the Conan O’ Brien show. Though you can tell that the Conan O’ Brien performance was a few notches down from their live performance, Jamie’s voice was more fine than ever. The band’s still on tour so make sure to see their incredible live show!
