ARCADE FIRE "Suburban War" MP3 + WINS GRAMMYS ALBUM OF THE YEAR

The Arcade Fire

The Arcade Fire just won the 2011 Grammys. It still gives me hope in some ways that a homegrown label such as Merge Records can really push through the bullshit out there.

SHUGO TOKUMARU “Rum Hee” (Deerhoof Remix) MP3

Shugo Tokumaru
Japanese multi-instrumentalist and songwriter will be releasing his next album Port Entropy on Polyvinyl Records along with Deerhoof. From the album, “Rum Hee” was remixed by now label mates Deerhoof. Already known for his landscapes of musical textures and the use of every possible instrument known to him the remix isn’t a departure from his usual experimentations.

HARD NIPS “Release It” MP3 + RECORD RELEASE TONIGHT

Hard Nips

This Brooklyn-based all Japanese riot grrrl act will be releasing their debut EP tonight ala 10″. In less than a year they’ve performed with Japanese contemporaries such as Shonen Knife, Zoobombs and Starscream. On top of that, they’ve rocked parties for VICE, CMJ and SXSW. Along the lines of Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney, Bratmobile, Le Tigre and AC/DC this quartet completely rocks the stage with their highly energetic grungy live shows. With Yoko Sawai helming the mic she explodes with a frantic adrenaline easily seducing anyone that makes eye contact with her. Emi pounds the skins at a thunderous pace leaving vibrations hard enough to give you a seizure. And on wings, Gooch and Mariko shred their guitars so loud that the only way to relieve yourself is to bang your head.

So with that, if you haven’t seen them live tonight (December 7, 2010) is the night to get your first experience with Hard Nips. At the Cake Shop they’ll be performing with Juiceboxxx, Greatest Hits and Jubilee. It’s going to be a complete animal house.

SONDRE LERCHE "Heartbeat Radio" MP3 + NEW ALBUM

Sondre Lerche
It’s that time of the year where “giving” is the theme. And well, one of my favorite songwriters has donated a new song to The Right Track. The donations will go to fund cancer studies by TargetCancer. The new track “Trying To Say Goodbye” is from his forthcoming album which was produced by Kato Ådland and Nicolas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Spoon, Dirty Projectors). It will be released next year. If you’d like a taste of his upcoming album download the new track at The Right Track. And if you’re a huge fan of Sondre’s like I am the track will fit perfectly into your massive Sondre Lerche collection. It’s a solo endeavor with his charming voice and acoustic guitar. The perfect track to keep your warm this winter.
