MEMORYHOUSE "Modern Normal" MP3

Memoryhouse

These summer tunes don’t seem to slow down. Maybe it’s just one grand marketing scheme by record labels to release their most “summery” artists during the summer. Well, after slowly churning through some buzz from their self-released The Years EP, the group has been signed to Sub Pop Records and now are on the verge of being one of the bands to be slumped in along with the other hazy lo-fi dream-themed duos out there. Their The Years EP will be repacked with new songs, remixed and remastered. And the new song “Modern Normal” will be one of the newer tracks on the album. Just like their other songs, it’s a gorgeous song that just lulls you into a dream-like state. It makes you want to embrace the summer sun for as long as you can. The new EP will be released September 13th, 2011.

KORALLREVEN "Honey Mine (Memoryhouse Remix) MP3

Korallreven

Featuring members Johan Duncansson from The Radio Dept, Victoria Bergsman from Taken By Trees and Marcus Joons the three produce music not too distant from their relative projects. With drum production similar to The Radio Dept.’s cold electronic drum machine and an airy shoegaze vibe in the vein of Cocteau Twins or today’s Twin Sister, fans of the like would enjoy their new single “Honey Mine” that was remixed by Memoryhouse.

MEMORYHOUSE “These Days” (Jackson Browne Cover) MP3

Memoryhouse

It’s cold, dark and cloudy on the east coast. The snowstorm from the Midwest has hit yet. But it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want to stay in all the time. Memoryhouse recorded one of the best versions of “These Days” (by Jackson Browne) that I’ve heard. Already covered by many artists such as Mates of State and Nico, it demonstrates that the song’s powerful writing has surpassed the passage of time. Memoryhouse’s version just like Nico’s is blanket warm and soothing. It’s the perfect accompaniment to the cold winter night.

MEMORYHOUSE “Caregiver” STREAM

Memoryhouse

Canadian duo has a new single titled “Caregiver” that will be released by Suicide Squeeze. On December 7th, 2010 you will be able to play the new track on a lovely 7″ vinyl. The song is a beautiful piano driven ballad with quietly thrusting guitars pushing against you in the background. It really is beautiful and perfect for the coming Winter Blues. The haunting chorus calling to “leave another ghost behind” is chilling. The track will be accompanied by b-side “Heirloom.”
