AMY WINEHOUSE "Back To Black" MP3 (RIP September 14, 1983 – July 23, 2011)

Amy Winehouse

I went to bed around eleven AM watching Earth 2 on Netflix. Three hours later “Amy Winehouse died.” I darted out of bed and said “WHAT?!” Yes, I admit I haven’t listened to her in a bit. But even with all of the media hoopla over her last performance and all the other stories throughout the last couple of years I never expected this. At 3.54pm in her London flat, Amy Winehouse was found dead and could not be revived. The cause is still unknown, although some of us have our theories about the pain that could have lead her to it.

This is such a sad loss. Especially for one that had a talent that came so natural and when she did perform to her capabilities – her performance had so much more soul than all the rest. Her live performances were absolutely stunning and captivating (although all I’ve seen were…sadly, just videos. I never had the opportunity to see her live.)

I never would have imagined this happening. I always thought that at some point she would have won through her battles. But not only does make us focus on drugs and someone’s personal life, but the way the media attacks souls such as Amy’s like sharks. Rather than focusing on her positive talents and gifts, they buried her underneath her own suffering and magnifying ten fold.

Amy’s potential could have shined much brighter than it already did. But she left us with two albums that will remain classic, Frank and Back To Black. Amy, you will be missed.

Now I leave you with my most favorite song “Black To Black.” A truly soulful gem.
