The Kills

I used to travel around Florida going to see the punk rock group Discount. Alison Mosshart’s emotive vocals were always enchanting in the live setting. Once the band disbanded a few years later there was word of Alison Mosshart’s new band The Kills. The band was much more bluesy and soulful in comparison to Discount. But they still contained the same hard hitting edgy aesthetics. Their first album Keep On Your Mean Side was great. Now six years later their fourth album Blood Pressures coming out on Domino Records has been announced.

From the new album “Satellite” has been chosen as the first single.  It has that jagged edge that the band has always been known for. The song rumbles like a bar fight that you wouldn’t want to get yourself involved in. And if you don’t pay attention you just may get punched and staggered by it’s army marching like ending.
