AZURE RAY “Silverlake” (featuring Sparklehorse) MP3

Azure Ray

A non-album track recorded during Azure Ray’s sessions for Drawing Down the Moon surfaced on the Saddle Creek website. The track “Silverlake” was one of the tracks that they laid down with Sparklehorse’s Mark Linkous.

I haven’t listened to Azure Ray in quite some time. In comparison to their older albums the track does retain the somber elegance that they’ve created with synth and vocal harmonies. But this time around there’s a more midwestern twang going on with gorgeous strings accompanying. It truly showcases Sparklehorse’s influence on the duos writing.
