I’ve been listening to The Radio Dept. for about a decade now. It’s incredible that the snowball effect for their brand of pop has finally hit the scenes here stateside. Recently with their latest full-length Clinging To A Scheme, indie kids and hipsters alike has taken a liken to them. Maybe it’s because their fuzzed out ways are now aligned with what’s “hip.” I’ve even seen electro and dance type websites cover The Radio Dept. It’s really odd. But for whatever reason their popularity has increased, it’s well-deserved. The trio’s three full-lengths have been nothing but outstanding.
Along with their full-lengths, the trio have also been known for their EPs such as Pulling Our Weight and Freddie and The Trojan Horse. Their new Never Follow Suit EP contains the track “Never Follow Suit” from Clinging To A Scheme. And recently, they’ve released a new music video for the track directed by Jens Henricson. Using cut up images and footage, the cold and dreary streets of Sweden are magnified. It makes the cold solemn winter that much lonelier.
