SHAKIRA “She Wolf” (Hot Chip Cover) MP3

Hot Chip

Musically, I like Shakira’s “She Wolf.” Vocally, I just don’t think I can groove with the track. But surprisingly Hot Chip decided to cover it on BBC’s Live Lounge. From Hot Chip‘s website:

“At the end of last week, the band recorded sessions for the Lauren Laverne show on BBC 6 Music and the Jo Whiley show on Radio 1. These sessions went out on  Friday 9th and Saturday 10th respectively and featured the legendary Green Gartside of Scritti Politti guesting with the band on guitar. The 6 music session featured live broadcasts of ‘I Feel Better’ and Slush’ alongside a version of ‘Alley Cats’ which will be broadcast via the station soon. For the Radio 1 session the band with gartside performed ‘I Feel Better’ and a cover version of ‘She Wolf’ by Shakira (written by one of the Bravery, fact fans). Both are available to listen again until the end of this week via the iPlayer.”

The song bounces the way Hot Chip bounces and is interesting.  It’s still dancey with the addition of their synth heavy dance pop.
