PETER HOOK will perform Unknown Pleasures by JOY DIVISION

NME reported that Peter Hook (former bassist for Joy Division and New Order) will be putting together a special event at his new club FAC251 in Manchester.  Commemorating the 30th anniversary of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis’ death, Hook and friends will be performing Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures in its entirity.  The album being the band’s debut has influenced a hoard of.  The night will be titled ‘An Evening of Unknown Pleasures’ and will take place May 18th, 2010.

Spinner reports that remaining members of Joy Division will also contributing.

“…the former members of Joy Division have also joined their considerable forces to start a campaign to try to rename Manchester’s Epping Walk Bridge after Curtis. The bridge is an iconic site and was the locale of multiple Joy Division photography sessions in the band’s early days.”
