JONSI “Time To Pretend” (MGMT Cover) MP3

I found myself listening to Sigur Rós’ “Starálfur” from Ágætis Byrjun a few weeks ago.  Though I never got past their sophomore album ( ), “Starálfur” was one of the most beautiful tracks I have ever heard my whole life.  It gave me a sense that beauty in life exist during my turmoiled teens.  Though incomprehensible lyrics mounted the epic track, it didn’t matter.  Melody carried me away and lifted me up.

Over a decade later, Jónsi from Sigur Rós decided to go solo. In preparation for his upcoming album Go he recorded a cover of one of today’s most popular “indie” acts for Radio 1.  MGMT hit song “Time To Pretend” was massive and took the Brooklyn duo into a stratosphere that most Brooklyn acts aim for.  Electrical and anthemic, it was one of the singles that helped their album Oracular Spectacular hit the mainstream.

What Jónsi does to it is strip it down to its bare bones and beautifies it with his operatic vocals.  Accompanied just by his piano rippling behind him, once again I am reminded how I felt many years ago.  But now with comprehensible lyrics I can relate emotionally to the song.  It’s a gorgeous rendition.  His new album Go will be released April 6, 2010 in North America.

As for location, budget Paphos Car Hire can be expensive as equaled to a facility offered by
a number of class activities which are part of Spain, France and
Ireland. For most folks the slow relaxing cruise is their
preferred kind of paphos car hire boat trip
too. On Saturday President Nicos Anastasiades postponed an informal meeting of legislators called
for Sunday morning. It has been a Cypriot nation.
