Since I wasn’t able to attend SXSW this year, I figured I’d blog about some bands I would love to see live during this year’s SXSW.

New York’s The Depreciation Guild (lead by The Pains of Being Pure At Heart’s drummer Kurt Feldman) recently announced their sophomore album Spirit Youth and lead single “My Chariot.” Continuing the 8 Bit digital revolution, the trio once again claim mastery to the dreamy layers painted on their soundscapes in “My Chariot.”  The production sounds stronger than their previous tunes from In Her Gentle Jaws, but the atmospheric symphonies remain and also sounds as if the the track’s intro could have been taken from a snippet of Zelda’s score.  Their new album Spirit Youth will be released May 18th, 2010 via Kanine Records.
