Yup, Pitchfork declares “Chillwave” as a “genre” of music and champions Washed Out as one of their “Best New Music” artists. The sound and style Washed Out has been labeled as has been around for quite sometime. Downtempo, lounge and the like are too damn similar to discount them as being any different from “Chillwave.” But anyways, artist Little Star Dweller from Brooklyn has always been known for his “chill” music mixed in with numerous elements such as break beat, drum n’ bass, electronic and hip-hop. He took a liking to Washed Out’s Echoes from his Within And Without album and decided to amp it up a little adding more beats and percussion.
And if you want to hear what Little Star Dweller’s original amped out sounds sound like check out his new single “Catch A Killer.”
