MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS "Tombstone" (ELITE FORCE vs DILEMN REMIX) MP3

Midnight Juggernauts

One of the UK’s biggest players when it comes to remixes takes on one of the land down under’s biggest live dance acts.  Along with knob twisting friend Dilemn, Elite Force has injected a lot of glitch beats into Midnight Juggernauts’ “Tombstone.” An ever ending quest for a high leaves us on that trail throughout the song.  Though not the perfect club banger, it is filling enough to keep us moving and anticipating the next song.

YEAR OF THE TIGER "Rockit" MP3

Year of The Tiger

Ever since the duo put out their track “Electric” there’s been a small swarming of buzz.  But comparisons to the other Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells have also arisen.  In this new article by the Village Voice, Sable Yong lead vocalist for Year of The Tiger states that “Anyone who listens to Sleigh Bells and Year of the Tiger will probably realize that we’re actually quite different, though. They’re way more hardcore and crunchier than us. We’re probably more melody-driven…”  And more melody driven indeed.  Unlike the hardcore noise that explodes out of Sleigh Bells, a more dance and party vibe comes out of Year of The Tiger’s electro beats.  In this case, their new track “Rockit” at times almost makes you want to touch yourself rather than head bang.

LOCAL NATIVES "Wide Eyes" (Teen Daze Remix) MP3

Local Natives

Ever since they remixed Twin Sister’s “All Around And Away We Go,” Vancouver’s Teen Daze has been one sought out remixing commodity.  Though not completely twisting “Wide Eyes” by Local Natives, the indie rock song leaves it’s path into the realm that Teen Daze has been inhabiting since its existence.  The lush melodies and textures adds a dreamy quality not found with the original all the while turning it into a possible late night floor stomper; a four on the floor stomper.  Listen for yourself and you’ll know why Teen Daze has been highly sought out.

BLONDE REDHEAD Announce New Album + European Tour

Blonde Redhead

A few days ago we were graced with a new track from Blonde Redhead titled “Here Sometimes.” Now we will also be graced with their new full-length album Penny Sparkle on September 13th via 4AD. Recorded between New York and Stockholm I am completely confident that the band was able to capture the sound they have been honing for years. On top of that, production duo Van Rivers and The Subliminal Kid (Fever Ray, Glasser) and as with their previous album, 23, Alan Moulder (Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) was enlisted to mix it. With some more big guns behind them, how can they miss?

Soon after the release of the album, the band will embark on a European tour. Fingers crossed for a quick return to New York soil.

European Tour Dates:

09.15.10 @ La Batie in Geneva, Switzerland
09.16.10 @ Bataclan in Paris France
09.18.10 @ AB in Brussels, Belgium
09.19.10 @ Melkweg (Oude Zal) in Amsterdam, Holland
09.21.10 @ Vega in Copenhagen, Denmark
09.22.10 @ Rockefeller in Oslo, Norway
09.23.10 @ Debaser in Stockholm, Stockholm
09.24.10 @ Virgin Oil Co. in Helsinki, Finland

NI NO KUNI: THE ANOTHER WORLD Studio Ghibli & Level-5 SONY PS3 VIDEO GAME TRAILER

The Another World

The Another World is a video game being in collaboration by the genius folks at Studio Ghibli (Ponyo, Tales From Earth Sea, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro) and Level-5. Previously stated for the Nintendo DS release, the game will now have it’s own port for Sony’s PS3. Though the game mechanics have yet to be revealed, stills and a trailer from the actual game has been released. They all look majestic. In an age of first person shooters, button mashers and action games that have all scraped off each other it is refreshing (at least visually) to see something so stunning and unique in a video game. Just on visuals alone the game looks like a winner. Sure there is the Kingdom Hearts series and the upcoming Epic Mickey game on the horizon.  But when was the last time were we captivated by an original storyfrom Disney?

Take a peek at the trailer below.  If the video doesn’t spark your imagination, the oxygen in your brain must’ve been drained by all of those aliens you’ve been shooting at in “outer space.”  All I can hope for is an interesting game with good game mechanics and we can all finally see through the perspective of Hayao Miyazaki.
