Part of their “By The Numbers” series given out for free at eMusic, The Postmarks deliver another sultry sweet cover.
Just like all of the other songs they’ve covered, their cover of David Bowie’s “Five Years” takes us on a candy-coated turn and journey. Lead by Tim Yehezkely vocals and the ever recognizable Burt Bacharacian composition that flows through the background like waterfalls, the song is a beautiful embodiment of what strong song writing can and produce even when its not an original.

Are you actually going to post the MP3? I jst signed up for a trial membership of emusic and *still* can’t download the song, due to licensing issues, or something, because I’m not in the US. Which is quite odd given the song is allegedly “free”. Desperate to hear it …
Hey Lawrence, sorry about that! It didn’t load right. But the track is up there now! Enjoy!
Outstanding. Thanks. This is really a great series of MP3s they’ve been putting out, and, of course, every month I have to wrack my brains trying to work out what number-themed song they’ll release next. (And, really, I hope they actually release the album on CD next year when it’s all done and dusted, so I can legitimately buy a copy.)
Thanks again. And great blog.
Cheers
Lawrence
I’m from Mexico and I can’t download it from emusic, and here the file it’s already down =(
I heard the cd actually comes out in September.
