FRANZ FERDINAND Under The State

So there was a “teaser video” of one of my favorite contemporary yet ever so vintage rockers performing a song that may be appearing on their third album. Now from the sounds of this song, it definitely sounds a lot more straight up and less angular than their previous works. But I wouldn’t want to call this teaser anything that can be representative of what may come. All I know is that I want some more!

They had performed this untitled track along some other new songs at a secret show at Basement of Glasgow’s Admiral Bar. To read up on some more details of that show click on over to NME.

According to drummer Paul Thomson “The last record was a bit rushed, we got straight off the tour bus and locked ourselves in the studio, and I think that’s reflected in the furious tempo. This record will be a bit more easy going, I think.” If they were able to record and release an album like that so effortlessly, I can’t imagine how incredible this third record will be.
