PLASTIC OPERATOR Home 0207 MUSIC VIDEO

PLASTIC OPERATOR

Sigh, this music video that compliments the lovely tune…

…just reminds me of those lazy summers that I spent as a teen sitting around, watching 120 Minutes quite lady on a Sunday night.  Somber vocals and sigh-creating lyrics “I don’t know when I’ll be coming home because you don’t have the time, you don’t know where I’ll be coming from because you care” years later make me take the familiar deep breath I used to take when a certain someone is running through my mind making my heart beat that familiar unusual faster pace.  The beats and synths just sway to curl up into a fetal position with that pillow over your head.  This is easily a song that watch over and over while sitting on the couch staring at the TV screen.

Pete Circuitt created a music that makes sense for Plastic Operator’s “Home 0207.”

JAMIE LIDELL Jim

JAMIE LIDELL

So sweet and smooth. My ears have been blessed enough to have found Jamie’s Multiply a few years ago. The album offered 10 tracks of heavy hitting soul jams that at times with eyes closed would make someone almost be mistaken that the vocalist was an electro mix-mashing white boy Brit. 10 tracks of blistering tracks that got those shoes steppin’ and booty shakin’ ala James Brown.

Well, I had no problems at all if Jamie decided to repeat himself and took a trip and multiply the same soulful album. Two and a half years later of anticipation, Jamie did just that with his brand new album Jim.

Just at 10 tracks, I wondered if I would be satisfied. Would I be satisfied with just 10 tracks to sway me back and forth to tralala on the New York streets? Well, the moment I pressed play, my ears salivated…yes, they salivated. Not sure what to expect, I sat there silently still. Song to song the album played until it finally got to the familiar “Little Bit of Feel Good” that was given as a teaser months ago. The same raunch was glossed over this track and it definitely got my head going back and forth. But soon after I was sitting silently still again. I finished listening to the whole album. I didn’t have a critique that jumped out. I listened to it again.

But before you know it, the more sunny and vibrant soul record grew on me. I was singing “Another Day”

LADY GAGA Just Dance MP3 & MUSIC VIDEO

LADY GAGA

Will she be able to compete with the M.I.A. and the Santogolds of the world? I’m not sure. But what I do know is that the song “Just Dance” is quite simple enough infused with dance floor beats that may have derived from the 90s but is hot enough to get me sweaty on the dance floor today.

Lady GaGa hailing from New York will soon be dropping her debut record Retro-Sexual soon. We will just see whether she was fabricated to compete with the strong female presences emerging from the pop underworld or someone authentic presenting talented power.

If the rest of her album can produce more than just one bouncin’ single, then I just may have to go check it out. So far the other song on her MySpace profile “Beautiful Dirty Rich” presents some promise. With the combination of these two songs, her album may be an electric fusion of club dance tunes roughed up with some nitty gritty dance rock jams. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

THE RADIO DEPT Freddie and The Trojan Horse MP3

THE RADIO DEPT.

Swedish wonders who have been graced on Sophia Coppola’s Mary Antoinette have a new album coming out soon. The date hasn’t been determined but a new song from the upcoming album has been released.

“Freddie and The Trojan Horse” completely fits the kind of mood I’ve been feeling lately. With the wandering mood and the lost hazy transition of the cold weather still lingering yet knowing that change is coming. With the synthed up percussion and 80s reverb channeling through the Johan Duncanson’s vocals this song could possibly be a hit having dance floor feet slowly prance around in longing.

JAMIE LIDELL Another Day MUSIC VIDEO

One of my most anticipated releases is coming out next week. Yes, Jamie Lidell’s Jim will finally be released and I am extremely excited about it! The soulful Brit released the second video and soon to be single “Another Day” via newsletter. It’s not as deranged as “Little of Feel Good” but still holds to the surreal imagination that Jamie Lidell must have. This music video is much better than Michel Gondry’s Be Kind Rewind if that means anything to you.
